Jinnais younger sister by about a year. Nanami is an independent and entrepreneurial individual who takes charge in situations. She goes as far as to grill her brother on fraudulent election results in front of the school broadcast club. When she arrives in El-Hazard, she initially struggles financially and has to work as a waitress to earn enough money for travel. However, she eventually meets Makoto and Fujisawa at the Fountain of Arliman, where she starts her own business selling boxed lunches to visiting priestesses. Nanami harbors feelings for Makoto but never had the chance to discuss a romantic relationship with him. Nanamis power in El-Hazard is unique as she can see through the illusions of the Phantom Tribe, making her an effective defense against their greatest threat in the first OVA series. In The Wanderers, Nanami has the ability to communicate with the Bugrom like her brother and explores a past relationship with Makoto in more detail. She also befriends Princess Rune Venus and forms a homoerotic subtext with Alielle, though this seems to be more of a big sister relationship.
