Makunouchi Ippo has successfully defended his title belt with the help of his signature move, the Dempsey Roll. However, new challengers are emerging and claiming to have an answer for this move that crushes opponents. Will Ippo be able to overcome these challenges or will his pride destroy him before he discovers what it means to truly be strong? Meanwhile, Aoki Masaru is close to claiming his own belt as the Japanese Lightweight Champion, ready to take on any opponent who comes his way. In Hajime no Ippo: Rising, we follow the same lovable group of dimwits from Kamogawa Gym as they continue their journey in the harsh world of professional boxing. With determination and courage, Ippo steps back into the ring once again to become stronger.
