The development of technology is closely linked with the evolution of humanity. Engineers have created robots known as "Labors" for widespread use in society, performing various everyday tasks. However, these Labors can also be misused by criminals for malicious purposes. To address this issue, law enforcement agencies worldwide employ "Patrol Labors" or "Patlabors" to prevent Labor-related crimes. Rookie police officer Noa Izumi is assigned to a special Patlabor unit and receives her own mechanical suit named Alphonse to combat crime. She works alongside her peers to safeguard society from those who seek to exploit advanced technology for harm. As Izumi becomes more involved in her unit, she must also learn how to navigate both personal and professional relationships with poise and tact. She forms friendships with fellow pilots such as Asuma Shinohara, Isao Oota, and other members of her brigade while combating conspiracies, workplace uprisings, and supernatural threats.
