Metallic Rouge, Anne Shirley Anime Screen in Competition at Annecy
Crunchyroll hosts panel at Int'l Animation Film Festival in France
On Thursday, Crunchyroll declared its participation in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. They will showcase Metallic Rouge and Anne Shirley in competition in TV Films 4 and TV Films 2 categories respectively.
Furthermore, on June 12 at 9:00 a.m., Crunchyroll's Executive Vice President for International Business, Michel Berger, will lead a discussion titled "Crunchyroll Studio Spotlight: Niche No More - Anime's Worldwide Appeal" at Anime Expo.
In June 8-14, Annecy, France hosts the 2025 International Animation Film Festival.
In January 2024, Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block introduced the new TV anime series called "Metallic Rouge". This show can be watched globally on Crunchyroll except for Asia, where it is being broadcasted live in Japan.
Carole & Tuesday was directed by Motonobu Hori of BONES. Yutaka Izubuchi, who is known for his work as mecha designer for Mobile Police Patlabor and Star Blazers 2199, as well as RahXephon, handled the series scripts and is also serving as chief director. Toshizo Nemoto wrote the screenplays for this animated series. Toshihiro Kawamoto designed the characters for this show. Taisei Iwasaki composed the music for Carole & Tuesday alongside Yuma Yamaguchi and Towa Tei.
In this "tech noir" anime series, people live alongside robots. It portrays Rouge, an android girl working with Naomi on Mars for the government. Their task is to eliminate the hostile Immortal Nine, who are artificially intelligent beings.
On April 5th at 6:25 p.m., NHK Educational began airing a new anime adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery's beloved series "Anne of Green Gables." This series will consist of 24 episodes in total.
Yūji Watanabe and Naoko Saitō are the animation directors for Lupin the Third: Part 5 episodes 2 and 4. Tadashi Kudo is directing the art for both The Heroic Legend of Arslan and Lupin III: Farewell to Nostradamus film. Shiho Kuriki is the color key artist for City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust and Armored Trooper Votoms: Pailsen Files films. Shinji Saitō is the compositing director of photography for City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust film. Kisuke Koizumi is directing the sound for Chainsaw Man, Kingdom third and fourth seasons. Finally, Michiru Ōshima is composing the music for Fullmetal Alchemist and The Tatami Galaxy.
In Avonlea, Prince Edward Island, Canada, during the end of the 1800s, there lived an 11-year-old orphan named Anne Shirley. She was mistakenly sent there by her guardians who intended to adopt a boy to assist them on their farm. Despite this, the story follows Anne's experiences at school and within the community.
The anime version portrays Anne's transformation from childhood to adulthood, as she forms relationships with her siblings Matthew and Marilla, develops friendships with Diana, and experiences romantic feelings for Gilbert. Some elements of this story are also present in Montgomery's later follow-up novels.
