At nineteen years old, Shayla is the youngest among the three priestesses in The Wanderers. She has fiery red hair that matches her control over the element of fire. Initially, she meets Makoto, Fujisawa and Alielle when they are rescued from a Bugrom attack on Mt. Muldoon. However, she runs off with Afura without hearing them out about their mission. When Shayla learns Makoto's true identity, she accuses him of being a pervert and tries to roast him. But after he saves her life when Ifurita awakens, she develops feelings for him. She also has a friendly rivalry with the wind priestess Afura Mann. Unlike in the OVA, Shaylas fire temple is located in a volcano. In addition to being temper-driven like her OVA persona, she is also a heavy gambler. When Makoto and Fujisawa first meet her, she has lost her clothes and the entire temple to Jinnai in a rigged game.
