The stern pilot of shenlong gundam descends from a renowned warrior family that was exiled to an impoverished space colony due to government fear. wufei adheres strictly to principles of honor and justice, safeguarding the weak and punishing wrongdoers. however, his pride can sometimes cloud judgment - when provoked beyond limit, wufeis inflated ego may falter. unlike other gundam pilots such as heero and trowa, even the introverted heero and trowa, wufei prefers to work independently and often seems more knowledgeable than his peers. his sole companion is his gundam, which he nicknames "nataku" after the chinese mythological hero [for additional details refer to episode zero manga].
By M.C. 0022, Wufei has become the head of the Mars Preventer base. He is the direct superior officer of Kathy Po, whom he sends to Earth to meet with President Dorothy Catalonia and get important files in order to enact Operation Mythos. When Kathy arrives back at the base, Wufei uses the files to awaken Heero Yuy from cold sleep. He and Father Maxwell with his son Duo greet Heero once awoken and give him his mission.
