The climax of the Eve Wars took place on December 24th in AC 195 when the armies of World Nation and White Fang engaged in a fierce battle. Treize Khushrenada, leader of World Nation, was killed and Zechs Merquise, leader of White Fang, disappeared. The intervention of five Gundam pilots saved Earth from destruction. After witnessing the devastation caused by war and hatred, people on Earth and its space colonies put aside their differences to establish a new world government known as Earth Sphere Unified Nation. A year has passed in peace under this government, with disarmament and destruction of most mobile suits being the order of the day. Gundam pilots Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton, and Quatre Raberba Winner bid farewell to their machines by placing them inside an asteroid and sending it on a one-way journey into the sun. However, even as they said goodbye to their Gundams, a new conflict was brewing.

Shin Kidou Senki Gundam W: Endless Waltz Tokubetsu-hen was released on DVD by Bandai Entertainment on February 6, 2001. The film was later re-released on Blu-ray and DVD by Right Stuf Inc. on December 5, 2017.
