Home video release includes Japanese/French dub of all 51 episodes in HD
On May 11th, AnimEigo is going to make available the Nobody's Boy Remi anime in Blu-ray Disc format. This set contains all 51 episodes in high definition and supports both 2D and 3D viewing options. Each disc comes with a pair of 3D glasses, while extra glasses can be purchased from MediaOCD Store. If you don't have glasses, you can still watch the anime in 2D.
The release will not include an English dub , but will include a French dub .
In 1977, an anime series consisting of 51 episodes was released in October. This anime adaptation was derived from Hector Malot 's novel titled Sans Famille ( Nobody's Boy ), published in 1878.
Osamu Dezaki directed the anime, which includes The Movie, Clannad, and Lupin the 3rd: Bye Bye, Lady Liberty. Haruya Yamazaki wrote the scripts for Gegege no Kitarō, Ashita no Joe, and Ganso Tensai Bakabon. Keiko Sugie wrote the scripts for The Rose of Versailles, Astro Boy, and other works. Tsunehisa Itō wrote the scripts for Black Jack, Hamtaro, and other works. Takeo Watanabe composed the music for Mobile Suit Gundam - The Movie Trilogy, Kyojin no Hoshi, and Candy Candy. Akio Sugino designed the characters for Black Jack, Cat's Eye, Genji Monogatari Sennenki, and other works. TMS Entertainment produced the anime.

Remi is a boy living happily with his mother in the French countryside. Unfortunately, everything changes when his estranged father comes home and, in desperate need of money, reveals that Remi is adopted, and sells him! Heartbroken, Remi ends up with Vitalis, a traveling musician, and his troupe of animal entertainers. Together, they travel the country in search for Remi's real parents, along the way learning the harsh lessons of life.
