Toyonaga plays Lahan in 42nd episode debuting on Friday




On Thursday, it was announced by the official Twitter account of the anime adaptation of 'The Apothecary Diaries,' which is based on the light novel series by Natsu Hyūga and Touko Shino, that Lahan, Lakan's adopted son, will be played by Toshiyuki Toyonaga in the second season of the anime. This character will make his debut in episode 42, which will air on Friday.

The second season's second cours (quarter of a year) premiered on April 4.

The first episode of the new season began on January 10th during Nippon TV's Friday Anime Night block. It will continue for two episodes. Crunchyroll is currently streaming the second season, as well as providing an English dubbed version.

The actors who joined the cast are Asami Seto playing the role of Shisui the maid, Lynn Hara portraying Ayla, Yumi Hara playing Aylin, and Natsumi Fujiwara taking on the character of Kyō-u.

In the second season of "Dead Dead Demons' Destruction," Lilas Ikuta sings "Hyakkaryōran," which is her first opening theme song as a solo artist. Previously, she was part of the YOASOBI unit and sang under the name ikura. Meanwhile, Dai Hirai performs "Shiawase no Recipe," which is the first ending theme song for this anime series. Mrs. Green Apple sings "Kusuhiki," which is the new opening theme song for this season, while Omoinotake performs "Hitorigoto," which is the new ending theme song.

In the East is a land ruled by an emperor, whose consorts and serving women live in a sprawling complex known as the hougong, the rear palace. Maomao, an unassuming girl raised in an unassuming town by her apothecary father, never imagined the rear palace would have anything to do with her—until she was kidnapped and sold into service there.

Despite her unassuming appearance, Maomao possesses exceptional intelligence, agility of thought, and extensive medical knowledge. Her secret is safe until she meets Jinshi, the head eunuch at the palace, who recognizes her abilities and appoints her as a lady-in-waiting to the Emperor's favorite consort. This allows her to test the consort's food for poison.

The anime series started its first season in October 2023, featuring its initial three episodes. It continued for two quarters before ending. Crunchyroll broadcasted the anime as it was released in Japan and is currently streaming an English dubbed version as well.

The second cours (quarter of a year) of the first season debuted in January 2024.


The first season of The Ancient Magus' Bride was directed by Norihiro Naganuma at TOHO animation and OLM. Naganuma also oversaw the scripts. Akinori Fudesaka served as the assistant director. Yukiko Nakatani designed the characters for Go! Princess Precure and Tropical-Rouge! Precure. Shōji Hata was in charge of sound direction. Satoru Kousaki, Kevin Penkin, and Arisa Okehazama composed music for the anime.

Hyūga began serializing ( link ) In October 2011, there was a story published on the website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. After that, in August 2014, Shufunotomo started printing the novels with illustrations by Shino. Then in Nekokurage was launched. ( link ) In May 2017, Square Enix began publishing an English-language version of the manga adaptation of their popular series in their Monthly Big Gangan magazine. Additionally, Square Enix Manga & Books is releasing this manga series in print as well as publishing its corresponding novels.
