Animated 1-shots to celebrate platform's 10th anniversary
On Sunday, it was revealed by Shueisha that three different anime studios - Wit Studio, Contrail, and Production I.G - will each create their own adaptation of a one-shot manga from the Shonen Jump+ platform in celebration of its 10th anniversary. JOEN is in charge of overseeing the project from start to finish. Further details about which one-shot manga will receive an anime adaptation can be found on the Shonen Jump+ platform and its anniversary website at a later time.
In late 2014, Shueisha introduced Shonen Jump+, which is a digital platform that provides more than 30 manga titles for free on a monthly basis.
In May 2022, Aniplex, which is owned by Sony, established JOEN as a joint venture with its sister companies Wit Studio and Production I.G, as well as publisher Shueisha. The purpose of JOEN is to improve the production process for both CloverWorks and Wit Studio by selecting the best production lines and creators for each project, rather than routing everything through one company alone.
Anime director Sunao Katabuchi ( Black Lagoon , In This Corner of the World ) established the studio Contrail on September 2, 2019.
The trailer for Holoearth, a game project under Cover Corporation's hololive Alternative metaverse project, was created by Wit Studio and released on April 23rd.
