Suzu Urano is a gentle and caring individual who enjoys drawing in her free time. Although she tends to daydream excessively, which sometimes annoys those around her, it also brings them joy. Growing up in Hiroshima City, Japan with her family, Suzu led a contented life. However, after some time, she was required to relocate to the neighboring town of Kure due to her marriage to Shuusaku Houjou, whom she barely knew. Despite feeling homesick and struggling to adapt to her new environment, living with an unfriendly family, Suzu questions whether this can truly become her forever home. The manga series "Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni" portrays the years from 1933 to the end of World War II when peaceful daily life gradually transformed into harsh and unforgiving circumstances as the war eventually reached Japan's shores, including Suzu's own backyard. She must overcome the inevitable suffering and loss that accompany war while supporting herself and those she loves.
