Film also streams with English dub in India
On Thursday, Netflix made available for streaming the second film in the Mononoke franchise, titled "Mononoke The Movie: Chapter II - The Ashes of Rage". This version includes both Hindi and English dubs. Additionally, viewers can watch it in Japanese with English subtitles.

On March 14th, the movie was released in Japan and generated 98,093,680 yen (equivalent to approximately US$675,360) within its first three days of screening.
In this production, Hiroshi Kamiya will once again portray the character of the Medicine Seller. Additionally, several familiar actors will be reprising their roles, including Haruka Tomatsu as Botan Ōtomo, Yōko Hikasa as Fuki Tokita, and Yūki Kaji as Saburōmaru Tokita.
Aina The End performs the film's theme song "Hana Musō."
The movie premiered in the West during the 2025 Annecy International Animation Festival, which took place from June 8th to June 14th.
In July 2024, Mononoke The Movie: Phantom in the Rain was released in Japan. It was later made available on Netflix for streaming in India on November 28. Initially, it was planned for release in 2023, but it was delayed until February 2023. During this time, it was announced that Takahiro Sakurai would no longer be playing the Medicine Seller as previously planned. Instead, Kamiya voiced this character in the film.
The third film, Gekijōban Mononoke Dai-San-Shō: Hebigami , will open in spring 2026.
The Mononoke film project will have three films. The Mononoke anime premiered in 2007 and aired for 12 episodes. The series is a spinoff of the Ayakashi - Samurai Horror Tales anime. Specifically, it follows the medicine seller from the "Bakeneko" (Goblin Cat) arc. The Mononoke anime has five arcs, the last of which is titled "Bakeneko."
