Daisuke Ono, Ai Kayano join cast
On Saturday at the Aniplex Online Fest event, it was announced that additional staff and voice actors have been added to the team working on Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Yotsuba Keishō-hen (The Irregular at Magic High School THE MOVIE Yotsuba Succession Arc) anime film. Additionally, a new video was shown which provides insight into the film's release date of 2026.
At 8-Bit Studios,
Jimmy Stone serves as the director for the upcoming anime production. Meanwhile,
Taku Iwasaki will be responsible for creating the music that will accompany this project.
Tsutomu Satou has been credited for developing the original storyline, while
Kana Ishida will be recognized for her work on the original character designs.
New cast members include
Daisuke Ono has Katsushige Shibata and
Ai Kayano as Yuuka Tsukuba.
The confirmed actors who will be back in the series are
Yūichi Nakamura playing Tatsuya Shiba,
Saori Hayami portraying Miyuki Shiba,
Chiwa Saitō as Maya Yotsuba, and Emiri Katō depicting Fumiya Kuroba.
In 2008,
Tsutomu Satou began his light novel series titled "The Irregular at Magic High School" or "Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei". This series concluded with its 32nd volume in September 2020. Two sequels were released in October 2020 and January 2021.
The anime series "The Irregular at Magic High School" first aired in April 2014 with 26 episodes. It was followed by "
The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc," which ran for 13 episodes starting in October 2020. Additionally, there is a film adaptation called "The Irregular at Magic High School: The Girl Who Summons the Stars," which was released in Japan in June 2017. Lastly, "
The Honor Student at Magic High School," a manga inspired by "The Irregular at Magic High School," had a 13-episode anime adaptation that debuted in July 2021.
In April 2024, the third season of the anime "The Irregular at Magic High School" was released on TV.
Crunchyroll made it available for streaming online with both English subtitles and dubbed versions as it was being broadcast.
Yen Press releases both the source material of The Irregular at Magic High School series as well as
Yu Mori's manga adaptation of
The Honor Student at Magic High School.
