Konomi Kohara joins cast as Okamoto




On Saturday, the team behind the TV anime adaptation of Yui Tamura's manga series "Yano-kun no Futsū no Hibi," known as "Yano-kun's Ordinary Days," released their second promotional video along with information about a new cast member. Additionally, they shared a preview of the show's ending theme song "Better Off" by iScream.

Konomi Kohara joins the cast as Okamoto, a mysterious girl who appears near Yano.

The anime will first be shown on Nippon TV starting from September 30th at 11:35 PM JST which is equivalent to October 1st at 1:35 AM JST. Following this, new episodes will be broadcasted every Wednesday at 1:29 AM JST.

The anime stars:

- Kōhei Amasaki as Tsuyoshi Yano
- Yuka Nukui as Kiyoko Yoshida
- Atsumi Tanezaki as Mei, Kiyoko's best friend
- Taito Ban as Hashiba, the class representative along with Kiyoko
- Rie Takahashi as Izumi, Hashiba's childhood friend
- Ryōta Iwasaki as Tanaka, Mei's childhood friend
- Satoshi Hino as Yano's Father
- Takuya Eguchi as Mr. Omiya, homeroom teacher for Class 2-1


The anime at Ajia-do is being directed by Shinpei Matsuo, who has previously directed Ascendance of a Bookworm season 3, Kakushigoto, and Kemono Jihen episode. Deko Akao is writing the script for this anime, having previously worked on Arakawa Under the Bridge two seasons and Ragna Crimson. Toshihisa Kaiya is designing the characters for this anime, having previously worked on Ascendance of a Bookworm three seasons and World Trigger. Hideakira Kimura is composing the music for this anime, having previously worked on Cerberus, Gundam Build Divers, Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE two seasons.

Yayoi Tateishi is responsible for directing sound in the anime "Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!" She is also the sound director for "Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions." In addition, she serves as a private tutor for the daughter of a duke in "Private Tutor to the Duke's Daughter." Bit Grooove Promotion is in charge of producing sound for the anime, while Nippon TV Music is responsible for creating music for it.

FANTASTICS perform the opening theme song "POP LIFE."

The comedy manga centers on Tsuyoshi Yano, the perennially unlucky high school boy, and Kiyoko Yoshida, the classmate who constantly worries for him. Yoshida sees Yano come into school injured, and Yoshida begins following Yano out of concern for him, observing his unlucky daily life, and resolving to support him.

In June 2021, Tamura started publishing his manga on Kodansha's Comic Days platform. As of now, the series is still ongoing. On March 12th, Kodansha released the 10th volume of the compiled books for this manga.

The manga also inspired a live-action film that premiered in Japan in November 2024.
