Sentai Filmworks Releases Azumanga Daioh Complete Collection BD on December 9
Blu-ray Disc set to feature English dub, Japanese audio with English subtitles
On Thursday, Sentai Filmworks declared that they would launch a "complete collection" Blu-ray Disc set for the 2002 Azumanga Daioh anime on December 9th. This set will include both English dubbed and Japanese audio versions, along with English subtitles.
The company describes the anime:
Yukari Tanizaki isn't the most experienced teacher, but that's certain to change with her new class of students. Between tomboyish Tomo, tall but secretly gentle Sakaki, clumsy and unfocused Osaka, and mature and frequently frustrated Yomi, Yukari would already have her hands full… but then there's child genius Chiyo, who at 10 is five years younger than her classmates! Toss in Miss Sakaki's ongoing difficulties with cute animals who don't like her, star-eyed Kaorin, who's smitten with Miss Sakaki, the creepy Mr. Kimura, and so many more, and it's going to be a never ending adventure in education in the complete collection of Azumanga Daioh !
In 2004, ADV Films put out the anime on DVD. Later, Sentai Filmworks included it as part of their Sentai Selects collection on DVD in 2016. Both formats had subtitles and dubbed versions. Now, this release is the first Blu-ray Disc of the anime available in North America.
In 2003-2004, ADV Manga released in North America the original manga of Kiyohiko Azuma, which consists of four panels. Later on, Yen Press republished this manga series.
In December, Sentai Filmworks will launch several anime releases including Gushing Over Magical Girls season 1 Steelbook, Trinity Seven complete collection, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? season 4 premium box set, The Ambition of Oda Nobuna complete collection, and Flower and Asura complete collection.
