Rukia baked sweets for her brother but discovered he preferred spicy cuisine from Renji. She then distributed the sweets to others and enlisted Ichigo's help in preparing a spicy curry for him. Although Rukia had previously enjoyed this dish at Ichigos house, she was hesitant to give it to Byakuya due to his sensitive stomach. Unohana intervened and requested that Rukia create something milder instead. Eventually, Rukia prepared rice porridge which pleased Byakuya greatly.
