A renowned sorcerer known as the corpse god perishes during a legendary conflict, then resurrects as polka shinoyama, a young lad living in contemporary tokyo. as he tries to adjust to his new physical form, he becomes embroiled in various supernatural organizations' efforts to eliminate him. one of these is misaki sakimiya, a high school student with the ability to perceive spirits, who seeks polka's demise from the outset of their encounter. amidst this confusion, polka encounters takumi kuruya, an expert in surveillance and hacking, and lisa kuraki, a crime lord operating in shinjuku. along with these newfound allies and others, polka faces peril to uncover the truth about his reincarnation and the destiny that awaits him in this modern world.
