Individuals who possess the ability to materialize weapons from their very being are referred to as "Blazers." These individuals attend Kouryou Academy High School in order to hone and develop their powers. Each pupil is required to partner with another, with the ultimate goal of achieving the power of Absolute Duo. Tooru Kokonoe harbors a deep desire to enroll at this esteemed institution, motivated by the tragic loss of his sister and companions at the hands of an enigmatic figure. However, during the opening ceremony, he is compelled to engage in a duel with the individual seated beside him. The loser of this contest would face expulsion from the school. As Tooru prepares to give his all in the match, it becomes apparent that rather than a weapon, a shield manifested from his soul. This anomaly piques the interest of a foreign student named Julie Sigtuna.

Episode 1 was previewed at a screening at Kadokawa Cinema Shinjuku in Tokyo on December 28, 2014. Regular broadcasting began on January 4, 2015.
