Yoshino Somei would have been an ordinary high school student if not for her family's ties to the Osaka-based Somei Group, the largest yakuza organization in Kansai. One day, she learns about the merger between Kansai and Tokyo's biggest syndicates, the Somei and Miyama groups, which will result in a marriage of their leaders' grandchildren - including Yoshino herself! Despite her efforts to annul the arrangement, Yoshino must travel to Tokyo to meet Kirishima Miyama, who turns out to be unexpectedly kind and charming. During their first meeting, Yoshino is swept up in various events and becomes unable to resist moving to Tokyo, where she now lives with the Miyama group. At school, her relationship with Kirishima attracts the hate of his fangirls, resulting in bullying. To make matters worse, Kirishima's ties to the underworld mean he is far from Yoshino's ideal prince charming. Raise wa Tanin ga Ii follows Yoshino as she navigates her new life in Tokyo filled with problems connected to the world of the Yakuza. However, this isn't Yoshino's first encounter with the underworld - she has dealt with it before.
