In 1600, during the Battle of Sekigahara, Toyohisa Shimazu was part of the rearguard for his retreating troops when he got critically wounded. Suddenly, he found himself in a modern white hallway with hundreds of doors on both sides and a stoic man named Murasaki. He was pulled into the nearest door and transported to an unfamiliar world filled with fantastical creatures and warriors from different eras of Toyohisas time period who were thought to be dead. In this new land, he met Nobunaga Oda and Yoichi Suketaka Nasu, both of whom taught him about the political unrest tearing through the continent. They had been summoned as "Drifters" to fight against the "Ends," people responsible for creating the Orte Empire who were trying to destroy the Drifters. As the Ends grew more powerful, so did the Empires persecution of elves and other demihumans. Toyohisa and his group of unconventional heroes had to battle in a new world war to help the Empires subjects while protecting their own land and challenging the Ends.
