Cocona is an adolescent living with her grandmother who has not yet decided on any goals to pursue. One day, she meets Papika, a mysterious girl who invites her to join the Flip Flap organization. As they embark on their mission together, Cocona discovers that they are in Pure Illusion, an unusual parallel universe. Along with Papika, Cocona is tasked with locating crystal shards. After completing their assignment, they are transported to another realm within Pure Illusion. While attempting to vanquish a menacing creature, the two girls employ their crystals to transform into magical beings: Cocona becomes Pure Blade and Papika turns into Pure Barrier. However, as they engage in combat against the beast, three other individuals with abilities from a rival organization emerge and slay it, taking away one of its fragments. Following this event, Cocona and Papika come to understand that if they wish to defeat their adversaries and navigate through the strange world of Pure Illusion, they must collaborate and synchronize their emotions in order to transform more effectively.
