The Abyssal Fleet poses a constant threat to the seas, prompting the establishment of a specialized naval base equipped with unique weapons known as "Kanmusu." These girls possess spirits of Japanese warships and can harness their powerful souls through weaponized gear. Fubuki, a young Destroyer-type Kanmusu, joins the base as a new recruit and is assigned to the renowned Third Torpedo Squadron. Despite her inexperience and reserved nature, she is thrust into intense combat. After being saved from certain destruction, Fubuki vows to become as strong as the ship that rescued her.
Kantai Collection is based on a Japanese free-to-play web browser game of the same name, launched in 2013.
