The Night Raid is a secretive branch of the Revolutionary Army that operates covertly to overthrow Prime Minister Honest. Despite being skilled killers, they understand that taking lives is not commendable and that they may face retribution for their actions. Tatsumi, a naïve boy from a remote village, joins Night Raid after embarking on a journey to help his impoverished hometown. He becomes involved in the fight against the Empire and faces challenges to his morals and values as he learns what it means to be an assassin with a cause. Akame ga Kill! is a manga series that follows Tatsumi's journey through these trials, including encounters with powerful weapons, enemy assassins, and ultimately, the true meaning of being an assassin.
Akame ga Kill! is the anime adaption of Takahiros shounen manga of the same title, which is illustrated by Tetsuya Tashiro and was serialized in Square Enixs Gangan Joker since April 2010.
