In a time travel device created by Gorilla Grodd, Batman's worst enemies are transported from modern-day Gotham to feudal Japan. Along with him is the Dark Knight and some of his allies. The villains assume the identities of the powerful lords who rule over the divided land. With their high-tech weapons depleted, Batman must use his intelligence and allies-including Catwoman and members of the Bat-family-to restore peace to Japan and return to Gotham City.
