Throughout history, books have been highly valued. They preserve knowledge, link past and future, and embody thoughts themselves. To safeguard various written materials, a man called the Librarian Master established the Grand Library in Aftzaak-the Metropolis of Literature. In the impoverished slums of Amun's desert village, resides Theo Fumis, an adolescent boy who adores reading. However, individuals from the slums are unable to utilize the local library. To make matters worse, he is frequently tormented by his peers because of his unusually long ears. Yearning to flee his wretched existence, he fantasizes about someday journeying to Aftzaak.
Suddenly, Theo's monotonous life is disrupted when the esteemed Kafna-elite librarians capable of working at the Grand Library-arrive in Amun. Sedona Bleu, one of the Kafna, loans Theo her most cherished book; however, due to unforeseen circumstances, he is unable to finish reading it before the Kafna must depart. Gratefully for Theo, Sedona extends his loan once more, providing him with an additional incentive to travel to the Metropolis of Literature.
