In Japan's Warring States period, Daigo Kagemitsu made a deal with 48 demons to gain control over the country in exchange for offering them his unborn baby's body parts. When the baby was born as a boy, Daigo threw him into a river, expecting him to drown. However, a kind sage found the boy and adopted him, fitting him with prosthetics. As he grew older, the boy named himself Hyakkimaru and began eliminating demons in exchange for his lost body parts. He rescued a thief named Dororo from bandits and they traveled together to find more demons who possessed Hyakkimaru's body parts. Along the way, they encountered various monsters and ghosts.
Dororo to Hyakkimaru Den is a remake of Tezuka Osamus Dororo series.
