Tokio Kurohara is a second-year high school student who prefers to relax in class. Despite his laidback demeanor at school, he collaborates with childhood friend Azuma Higashi to combat the growing inequality in their town. While Tokio lacks physical strength, Azuma possesses it and often faces off against common thugs. However, there are certain situations where even Azuma refuses to engage. Choujins-supernatural beings with extraordinary abilities beyond human capabilities-are entities that both Tokio and Azuma steer clear of at all costs. One day, a defeated foe returns seeking revenge, compelling Tokio and Azuma to confront him. Unable to escape, they administer themselves with a drug that transforms someone into a Choujin. Although the medication appears to have no impact on Azuma physically, Tokio develops a beak as a result. Fearing being recognized as a Choujin, Tokio must now devise a plan to conceal his new identity. However, it seems that there are individuals who are displeased with Tokio and Azuma's use of the Choujin drug and are determined to make their dissatisfaction known.
