Souma Sagara, a dedicated gamer who spends all of his time playing the virtual reality game "Neko-Mimi-Neko," or NCO for short. Unfortunately, after failing to keep a promise with his little cousin Maki, she discovers a magical wishing mallet in their storage room and accidentally wishes Souma away out of frustration. As a result, Soumas body is transported into NCO as a level one character, trapped in an unforgiving game world known for its glitches, developer shenanigans, traps, and unfair scenarios. However, having spent years playing the game, he is well-versed in its lazily coded mechanics and uses this knowledge to his advantage as he sets out to exploit the games inner workings to his heart's content.
