Rie is a Japanese seiyuu who has worked on several anime series alongside Toyoguchi Megumi and Hoshi Soichiro. In the first half of Hanaukyo Maid Tai La Verite episode 5, she cosplayed Chi from Chobits, which was also her character to voice. Rie is a fan of Suigintou from Rozen Maiden and has even done a cosplay of her own character. Some characters whom she voiced dress in Gothic Lolita style such as Chii and Freya from Chobits, Suigintou from Rozen Maiden, and Towa-chan from DN Angel. Rie's favorite greeting sign is the V sign when standing in front of a camera. Her fan club is called Café de Rie. She is also a member of the Steel Angels, a singing trio composed of the three lead seiyuu of Steel Angel Kurumi and is responsible for its opening and end themes. Despite her singing ability, she voiced Yomi in Azumanga Daioh, which was unexpectedly tone-deaf. Rie was married to fellow voice actor Kouichi Yamadera from 2012 to August 3, 2018.
