Furthermore, viewers worldwide can watch the second season in real time on X (formerly Twitter) as it airs on TV in Japan. In addition, a special episode titled "Hoshina's Day Off" will air on Japanese TV on July 5 at 11:00 p.m JST (10:00 a.m. EDT), and will also be available on X/ Twitter worldwide in real time as it airs.
On Sunday, Akatsuki Games disclosed the background story and voice actor lineup for Sagan Shinomiya, the main character in Kaiju No. 8 the Game. Sagan is the adopted daughter of the Shinomiya family and leads "CLOZER," a special forces unit tasked with sealing dimensional portals. Akari Kitō provides the voice for Sagan in both the smartphone and PC game adaptations of the Kaiju No. 8 franchise.
The main focus of the game is on creatures known as "identified monsters," which were believed to have been defeated in previous battles but have now returned through the "Monster Dimension Gate." Sagan Shinomiya's CLOZER unit is investigating this enigma.
The game will launch for the iOS, Android, and PC via Steam . The App Store listing ( link ) for the game states a release date of August 31.
Kōki Uchiyama will join the cast as Gen Harumi in the second season.
Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon , the compilation film of the first Kaiju No. 8 anime season, opened in 32 theaters in Japan for three weeks only starting on March 28, and included the new original episode "Hoshina's Day Off."
In the movie, "Hoshina's Day Off," the concluding tune is "Invincible," which is the theme song from "Kaiju No. 8." This melody is performed by the American rock group known as OneRepublic.
Several individuals who appeared in the initial series are back in the latest installment. As the author of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Yūto Tsukuda wrote the original storyline for this episode. Yuichiro Kido, creator of Dr. Stone, was responsible for the script. In this episode, Reno takes advantage of his day off to investigate something odd happening with Hoshina, who is also enjoying a day off, while Iharu accompanies him.
In Japan, the anime was broadcast on TV Tokyo starting from April 2024 for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll provided English subtitles for streaming, while also offering an English dub version.
