Kidou Senshi Gundam 0080- Pocket no Naka no Sensou

Alfred Izuruha is a 10-year-old boy who resides in the neutral colony cluster of Side 6. Like many children his age, he is fascinated by the conflict between Earth Federation and Principality of Zeon. However, what Alfred does not know is that his neighbor Christina is secretly testing a prototype Gundam for Earth Federation in the colony. A team of Zeon Special Forces has been assembled to either steal or destroy this prototype during an upcoming mission. During a skirmish between Federation and infiltrating Zeon forces, Alfred stumbles upon a Zaku mobile suit that was shot down by a rookie pilot named Bernard "Bernie" Wiseman. This encounter leads to the formation of a mutual friendship between the two, with Alfred gaining more insight into the war he is so passionate about and Bernie obtaining valuable information about the colony to aid his team's mission.

Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket was a project made to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the franchise. It marked the first time someone other than Yoshiyuki Tomino had directed a Gundam project, with Fumihiko Takayama acting as lead director.
