With the combination of intelligence and physical strength, Senku's plan to solve the mystery behind the green light is progressing. To achieve this next step, Senku needs to build a ship. Tsukasa Shishio's former subordinates are helping with the base construction, but there's one missing element: a capable captain. During their search, they encounter Ryuusui Nanami, the heir of a renowned maritime conglomerate who possesses extensive knowledge about sailboats but has an unpleasant personality. Despite this, Senku decides to revive him.
Ryuusui, realizing there are no ownership rights in this new civilization, is thrilled at the opportunity to claim everything for himself. However, before he agrees to lead the ship through treacherous waters and command its crew, he and Senku must first find oil as fuel.
