Nagisa Misumi and Honoka Yukishiro are two individuals with contrasting personalities. While Nagisa is a captain of the lacrosse team, food lover, and disliker of homework, Honoka enjoys learning and has earned the nickname "The Queen of Knowledge" from her classmates. Their paths cross when they encounter Mipple and Mepple during a mysterious star shower. These residents of the Garden of Light hail from a homeland that was conquered by the evil forces of the Dark Zone, which now seek to conquer the Garden of Rainbows: Earth. Nagisa gains powers from the Garden of Light and becomes Cure Black while Honoka does the same and becomes Cure White. As Pretty Cure, they must locate the Prism Stones, the only source of power strong enough to defeat the Dark Zone and repair the damage done to the Garden of Light. Will these magical girls be able to save their home from the threat that looms over it or will they fall victim to darkness?
