In the beginning, there was a young woman named Kaho Nikaidou who came from an influential family. Due to her background, no one had ever spoken ill of her, out of fear of incurring her household's wrath. Wanting to be around people who would treat her as an equal, she decided to leave home and live at a dormitory for her new school year. Not long after arriving, Kaho accidentally wandered into traffic and was saved by a tall, handsome stranger. When she asked for his name, he told her that she was strange and walked away. Despite this, Kaho became infatuated with the man who had rescued her. She eventually met him again and discovered that his name was Kanade Takahashi. Kanade expressed interest in dating Kaho, but revealed that there was a secret he kept from her. To her surprise, Kaho learned that Kanade was only five years old! Despite this revelation, she decided to break up with him. However, as she spent more time with Kanade, she found herself growing fonder of him and continued dating him. Thus began Kaho's journey into love with her immature yet kind fifth-grade boyfriend, as depicted in the novel Hatsukoi Monster.
