His homeroom teacher forces him to join the Volunteer Service Club, hoping that helping others would change his attitude. However, the only member of this club is Yukino Yukinoshita, another loner but smarter and colder than Hikigaya. They expand their club when Yui Yuigahama joins them after receiving help. Despite being a recluse, Hikigaya tries to solve problems on his own, but his methods may have both advantages and disadvantages.
