Yana Toboso  

Yanao Rock, 簗緒ろく

Yana Toboso, also known as Rock Yanao, is an artist who creates BL manga and yaoi doujinshi under her pen-name. Her real first name is Yana, but Toboso is not her actual surname. In reality, "Yana" and "Toboso" are both different ways to pronounce the word "kururu," which means "to pivot/turn." She often mentions that she dislikes being called "Yana Hitsugi" by her fans because the kanji for Hitsugi resembles the kanji for Toboso, but with a different meaning. Her assistants include Satorigi Akiyo, Hazuki Wakana and Kuma Takeshi, who is also an editor and a former mangaka. Yana is friends with Fujiwara Cocoa, another artist. She draws herself as a devil with a black body, horns, a round white head, and a pointed tail. Although she has never shown a real picture of herself, her actual appearance remains unknown. Before Volume 4, Toboso's devil had hair. However, she later stated that she had a bald spot the size of a ¥10 coin.
