In Japan, : Vigilantes will be released as a TV anime on April 7th. This is based on the manga written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court.
The My Hero Academia spinoff manga follows a story that happens before the main series. It is based on the work of Kōhei Horikoshi. Viz Media describes the plot of the first volume.
Koichi Haimawari couldn't make the cut to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his spare time. Then one day a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they're doing, but they've got the courage—or foolishness—to try. But they soon discover fighting evil takes more than just being brave…

Kocchi no Kento will perform the anime's opening theme song "Kekka Orai" (All's Well in the End). Four-member rock band yutori will perform the ending theme song "Speed."

The release of the anime was postponed from its scheduled airing in July 2024 because of a one-hour special that was scheduled for June of that same year. However, production issues caused this special to be pushed back as well.
