For several years, Yuno has aspired to attend Yamabuki Arts High School. Now that she's been accepted, she faces the daunting task of leaving her home and family for the first time. However, fortunately, Yuno discovers that despite not being technically related, many of her neighbors at Hidamari (Sunshine) Apartments share a bond as fellow art students. For instance, there are second-year students like Hiro and Sae who try to act as helpful older sisters, even if they're not always successful. Additionally, Yuno has an energetic new neighbor, classmate, and best friend Miyako whose apartment is the scariest in the building. With their support, Yuno begins to build a network that will help her navigate the strange characters she encounters at her art school, including her oddly masculine landlady, her cosplay-obsessed home room teacher, her tooth-chattering principal, and all of the other peculiar inhabitants who call Hidamari (Sunshine) Apartments their home.
