Suddenly, there is an outbreak of a zombie infestation. While everyone is panicking, high school student Yuma Kousaka is bitten by a zombie. Frightened by the possibility of death, he reunites with Haruka Hinata, his friend's younger sister, after many years apart. Despite his new undead state, Yuma still retains his memories and personality. In his final moments, he asks Haruka if he can be her boyfriend before he dies. To his surprise, Haruka reveals that she has had feelings for him all along. However, their blossoming romance is put to the test as they navigate the dangerous world of zombies together.
