Reiji Kurose was born in a rural area and spent most of his life there, feeling trapped and unable to leave his hometown. He felt responsible for staying with his mother, who took care of his shut-in brother and demented grandmother. Additionally, he couldn't escape the clutches of Gen Minegishi, who controlled him constantly. On the other hand, Reiji's childhood friend Sakuko Akiyama saw beyond their small town's dreariness and dreamed of the vibrant chaos of Tokyo.
To cope with his mundane life, Reiji found solace in watching "Acrylic," an idol group, and its most beautiful member, Nagi Aoe. However, when he encountered the famous idol behind a convenience store in his grim town, he didn't expect to become entangled in a series of scandalous events that seemed like echoes from the past. As a result, Reiji lost his innocence and struggled to navigate through the moral quagmire he found himself in. To make matters worse, an intricate web of lies, obsession, and betrayal threatened to tear him apart.
