In the uncharted depths of a dungeon, a mysterious corpse is found-one that should not exist according to all known laws of life and death. After Iarumas is resurrected, he loses all memory of his past life and spends his days exploring the dungeon to retrieve the remains of deceased adventurers. Can these individuals be brought back to life? Or will they be reduced to nothing more than piles of ash on an altar? Regardless, Iarumas receives payment for his services. Although his abilities earn him some respect from the living, he is also criticized for his cold and utilitarian approach. Iarumas primarily interacts with the dead, but that changes when he encounters Garbage, a young swordswoman who survived a massacre. With Garbage by his side, Iarumas delves deeper into the dungeon in search of clues about his own past, while avoiding monsters, traps, and the certainty of eternal ashen existence.
