In ancient times, a race known as the Shadow Angels attacked Earth with the goal of harvesting its inhabitants' life force. Despite an incredible stroke of luck, the Shadow Angels went into hibernation, allowing humanity to live without fear for 12,000 years. However, after a catastrophe called Holy Genesis caused widespread devastation on Earth, the Shadow Angels were awakened and resumed their attacks once more. To give humanity some hope, an organization named DEAVA was formed, and permission to use a robotic weapon named Aquarion was granted. In order for Aquarion to reach its full potential, three individuals must unite their hearts, bodies, and souls into one. As a result, the search for Element Users became a top priority in an effort to secure humanity's future. Sousei no Aquarion follows the story of Apollo, a young man raised in poverty who is believed to be a legendary hero reincarnated. After his best friend was taken by the Shadow Angels, Apollo decided to become an Aquarion pilot. Will he succeed in turning the tide of war and saving humanity from the threat of the Shadow Angels once and for all?
