In 17 years ago, immortal humans known as "Ajin" first appeared in Africa. They were labeled as a threat to mankind due to their potential misuse of powers and the fact they could not be destroyed. Since then, any Ajin found within society is immediately arrested and taken into custody. Kei Nagai, a high school student studying to become a doctor, has little knowledge about Ajin beyond what he's seen in news reports. Although students are taught that these creatures aren't human, Kei doesn't pay much attention in class. During an accident that was supposed to kill him, Kei is reborn as an Ajin and begins his days of persecution. However, while on the run from the entire world, he realizes there may be more of his kind closer than he thought.

Ajin is scheduled to be streamed by the multinational provider Netflix worldwide after the current run ends.
