Takeo Gouda is a tall and muscular high school freshman with an intimidating appearance. Despite this, he has a kind heart and is respected by the boys for his bravery and chivalry. However, these traits do not aid him in his romantic endeavors. His good looks are matched only by the charm of his best friend and constant companion, Makoto Sunakawa, who steals the hearts of female students, including those Takeo has admired. When Takeo saves Rinko Yamato from being molested, he falls deeply in love with her but suspects that she may be interested in Sunakawa instead. Despite this, Takeo remains selfless and decides to help Yamato find love, all while yearning for his own romantic story.
